About

The opening ceremony of KINTEX Exhibition Center 3 is an event attended by a wide range of domestic and international guests and visitors, making guidance at the moment of entry and first impressions critical factors that shape the overall event experience. However, existing guidance systems had structural limitations, either delivering fixed information in a one-way manner or producing service quality that varied depending on on-site staff proficiency.

To address this, we introduced Perso Interactive technology to create an interactive welcome environment at the entrance of KINTEX Exhibition Center 3, where an AI Avatar greets visitors and provides a personalized welcome message along with real-time guidance on the event schedule.

By moving away from conventional one-size-fits-all guidance and shifting to a personalized welcome experience based on visitor information, both domestic and international visitors were able to receive a differentiated welcome experience from the very first moment of their visit, without language barriers.

Background for Adoption

As visitor expectations for exhibition venues increased, demand grew for experiences that go beyond simply obtaining information and offer special treatment tailored to each individual.

Traditional uniform guidance methods were effective for managing large numbers of visitors efficiently, but they fell short in providing an in-depth welcome experience tailored to each visitor’s affiliation or purpose of visit. In particular, at opening ceremonies attended by global VIPs, language barriers have acted not only as communication blockers but also as factors that undermine the overall professionalism of the event.

Accordingly, we adopted Perso Interactive to build a virtuous cycle in which visitors experience a differentiated, information-based welcome from the moment they enter the venue and can immediately obtain the information they need without language barriers.

Solution

The Perso Interactive-based station provides personalized welcome messages based on visitor information and guidance aligned with each visitor’s purpose. It proactively provides necessary information according to the visitor’s affiliation and purpose, delivering a differentiated experience from the moment they enter.

Visitors can naturally ask the AI Avatar about KINTEX facility information, program schedules, locations, and more, just as if they were having a conversation, and get immediate answers. Even with everyday expressions such as “Tell me today’s programs” or “Where is this booth?”, the AI accurately understands intent and provides integrated guidance—from related exhibitions and programs to movement routes. Repeated inquiries that previously had to be handled through information desks or on-site staff are now processed instantly through AI, making the visitor information-search experience much simpler.

In addition, through real-time multilingual support, overseas visitors can enjoy the same level of guidance in their native languages. Going beyond the limits of traditional approaches where service quality varied by language, an environment has been established where visitors can receive natural and accurate responses regardless of the language they use.

Outcomes

Through personalized welcome messages, visitors can now receive tailored responses aligned with their names and visit purposes from the moment they enter the venue, contributing to significantly strengthening first impressions across the entire event beyond conventional standardized guidance methods.

As visitors became able to naturally ask the AI Avatar about event and program information and verify it immediately, the inconvenience of having to find separate information desks or ask on-site staff to locate desired information was reduced, and overall guidance accessibility and operational efficiency improved together.

With real-time multilingual support, overseas visitors can now receive exhibition information and movement-route guidance in their native languages, eliminating discomfort caused by language barriers and creating an environment where both domestic and international visitors can enjoy an equal level of event experience. As a result, this innovative first impression has become a core factor in enhancing event readiness and brand value.

Recommended For

If you are an exhibition venue operator, an international event manager, or anyone seeking to build a high-quality multilingual guidance system for global visitors, this case will provide clear guidance for you. It is also a highly useful reference if you want to increase visitor loyalty through personalized interaction and strengthen brand marketing impact.

What You Might Be Curious About

Q. Can it be deployed on-site immediately without installation or separate development?

A. Yes. Perso Interactive AI can be deployed on-site immediately without separate development or infrastructure setup. However, if adding event information or customization is required, desired development can be carried out through prior consultation. After development, the station (kiosk) devices can be placed and operated on-site right away.

Q. Is it possible to operate it across multiple event venues at the same time?

A. Yes, it is possible. A real-world case is the simultaneous operation of the APEC Gyeongju event and the opening ceremony of KINTEX Exhibition Center 3. Since separate information sets can be configured for each venue, it can be reliably applied to expos or multi-venue events running multiple events at once.

I was impressed that I was greeted based on my information as soon as I came in, and the event itself felt more well-prepared.
